TAU401 features high-speed SRAM for streamlining data transfer and buffering, and offers RAID data protection while delivering satisfying performance for most applications with efficient I/O optimization processing intelligence. Drive failure detection, automatic drive rebuild, hot spare assignment and background rebuild functions makes it possible for users to monitor and address system conditions. In addition, the TAU401 storage RAID system supports over 2TB capacity using the eSATA connection on Windows Server 2003 or Windows Vista, which tranfers to longer video recording hours or higher-resolution video in a digital video recorder, or more accounts in a mail server. FireWire or USB connection only supports under 2TB capacity on all available operating systems at this time.
